The following main Amenities are provided in the Village TRANSPORT The village is on the main bus route, number 267, from Bath to Frome. Two companies provide the service and buses run into Bath at 22 and 45 mins past the hour during the day. The first one is at 0651on weekdays and 0759 on Saturdays, with the last one at 2251.  Coming out of Bath the last bus is at 2315. REFUSE AND RECYCLING Refuse and Recycling Collection is weekly on Fridays. A Clothes Skip is now in temporarily in position on the road up to the Millennium Green.  This is sponsored by the Air Ambulance Compostable garden waste, without any cardboard, is collected fortnightly LIBRARY A mobile library calls around the Village once every two weeks on a Thursday. Amongst other things you can locate books and order then for collection on the Mobile library SCHOOLS The Primary School in  the Village has now closed down and the nearest one is in Freshford, about two miles away.  The nearest Secondary School is the Ralph Allen School, about four miles away in Combe Down, which is on the Southern outskirts of Bath.  Other Schools are also fairly easily accessible in Bath. There is a Pre School in Wellow, for children aged between 2 years 6 months and school age. This is just two miles to the west of the village. (www.magicboxpreschool.co.uk} DOCTORS The main practice that serves the Village is situated at the St Lukes Surgery in Beckington, which is about four miles south of the village.  A surgery operated by the practice is also situated in Freshford, about two miles away, and in Frome RIDINGS This is an organisation that provides transport for people in the Village who  want to make a local trip to the shops, dentist, doctor, hospital etc, but who are unable to use private or public transport.  Drivers in the village provide the transport and the activity is funded largely by voluntary donations by the passengers.  The Co-ordinator is Mavis Bennett: 01225 722699.  See Annual Report
