    The following main Amenities are provided in the Village

    TRANSPORT

    The village is on the main bus routes, number 267 and 767, from Bath to Frome. Buses run about every hour and going into Bath the first one is at 0651on weekdays and 0759 on Saturdays, with the last one at 2251.  Coming out of Bath the last bus is at 2330     

    REFUSE AND RECYCLING

    Refuse and Recycling Collection is weekly on Fridays. A Clothes Skip is now in temporarily in position on the road up to the Millennium Green.  This is sponsored by the Air Ambulance and will be kept in place until the end of July.

    From week beginning 30th November B&NES's weekly recycling collection is being extended to include cardboard and household plastic packaging.  

    ·       Cardboard should be put in blue weatherproof bags which are being distributed to all B&NES households.  

    ·       The previously unacceptable plastic items such as yogurt pots, butter tubs and fruit trays can go in the green box.  

    ·       Compostable garden waste, without any cardboard, will continue to be collected fortnightly.

    LIBRARY

    A mobile library calls around the Village once every two weeks on a Thursday. For times see The BANES website .

    Also why not visit the Library Service website at http://www.librarieswest.org.uk/. Amongst other things you can locate books and order then for collection on the Mobile library.

    SCHOOL

    The Primary School in  the Village has now closed down and the nearest one is in Freshford, about two miles away.  The nearest Secondary School is the Ralph Allen School, about four miles away in Combe Down, which is on the Southern outskirts of Bath.
