The countdown is on for one of the highlights of the village calendar! The Hinton Charterhouse Summer Fete returns next month, bringing an afternoon of fun, food, music and community spirit to the Millennium Green.
There will be something for everyone to enjoy, with traditional fete games, local stalls, live music, delicious food and drink, family entertainment, and plenty of friendly competition throughout the day.
This year’s fete will be officially opened by our vicar, Nigel Rawlinson, who has quickly become a much-loved member of the community. As the fete falls on his birthday, there may even be a little singing and cake involved.
The ever-popular tea tent, run by Dawn and Sarah, will once again be serving homemade cakes, savoury treats, and hot and cold drinks. Bakers are also encouraged to enter the cake competition, which returns after last year’s memorable Black Forest gâteau stole the show.
Food lovers can look forward to delicious wood-fired sourdough pizzas from Nettwood Pizzas, while Chris and his team from The Stag will be running the bar. Shaun and Razz from The Rose & Crown are once again generously supporting the fete with food and games.
We’re delighted to welcome back Callie’s annual dog show and musical entertainment from the fantastic Keynsham Brass Band. Younger visitors can enjoy arts and crafts, races, a giant inflatable slide and plenty more activities throughout the afternoon.
There will also be a fantastic raffle, a wonderful selection of local stallholders, and, of course, the traditional Tug of War finale, where the Hintoners will be hoping to defend their title.
The Summer Fete is a wonderful opportunity to catch up with neighbours, meet new faces, and celebrate everything that makes our village such a special place to live.
We look forward to seeing you there for what promises to be another fantastic day on the Millennium Green.
With thanks to Homewood Park and all of our generous local sponsors whose support helps make the fete possible.
